About This Lesson
Students will watch a video clip of an animation showing the Big Bang origin of the universe, the creation of stars and chemical elements, and finally the formation of the solar systems, planets, and life. The video will also give a sense of the vast size of the universe, both in space and time. Discussion will explore the possibility of life elsewhere in such a vast universe and the meaning of such extraterrestrial life. What would we say to other intelligent beings from other worlds? And is Earth the only planet in the cosmos with life?
