Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History
The Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History is the nation’s only museum solely dedicated to preserving, exploring, and celebrating the American Jewish experience—anchored at the heart of Independence Mall and empowered by a Smithsonian affiliation. Home to over 30,000 artifacts tracing centuries of Jewish life in America, The Weitzman uses thoughtful exhibitions, public programs, and educational initiatives to foster connection, curiosity, and civic engagement. We’re especially proud to offer the free, plug-and-play Stories That Shaped a Nation: Jewish Lives in America curriculum— in partnership with leading organizations and designed to challenge antisemitism, address bias, and deepen understanding of Jewish identity and democracy through diverse, inclusive storytelling. Developed by educators for educators, these standards-aligned lessons are ready to use in the classroom and adaptable to a wide range of student needs.
